Keppel Parish supports couples through a number of interviews that explore the special character of Christian marriage. We also provide a number of practical resources to help you grow and strengthen your relationship over time as you grow old together in love.

You may choose to be married in either our historic building in Emu Park or our modern church in Yeppoon with its views over Keppel Bay.

Why a Church wedding?

Because your Wedding Day is such a special event it is important that the place you choose to exchange your vows is one that is special also. The Bible teaches that marriage between a man and a woman gives a visible expression of the relationship between Christ and his church. As we might observe a Christian woman as she relates to her husband, we learn how the church honours Jesus. As we might observe a Christian man loving his wife we learn how Jesus gave himself in love, sacrifice and service for his people.

Australian Law requires Anglican clergy to use the Anglican Prayer Book Service of Holy Matrimony. During your preparation for marriage the clergy will conduct an in-depth exploration of the order of service with you that will be such a special part of your wedding day. A Christian wedding ceremony gives a couple opportunity to express commitment to their relationship with each other. It also enables you to express your relationship with God and desire to have God involved in your life together as husband and wife.
