About Us |
|
Location Keppel Parish is found on the coast of Central Queensland just north of the Tropic of Capricorn. It is part of the Diocese of Rockhampton. The parish stretches from Byfield in the north to Keppel Sands in the south. With its cooler climate Yeppoon is becoming a dormitory suburb of Rockhampton that lies just 43 km away by road. The area of the parish has a population of 22,000. Outreach The Parish has established a plan that uses various projects to reach out to over 4000 people in the community who identify themselves as Anglicans. It is our desire to see more and more people become actively involved in this faith community. Our projects section will tell you more of what we are doing to achieve this. Take time to explore our list of projects that make up our strategy of outreach and growth. The Parish is based in Yeppoon where worship takes place in St James. The present building was constructed in 1912 with funds raised at St James, Paddington in London. The second center of the parish is the growing community of Emu Park, about 20 km to the south. Christ Church Emu Park has been a place of Anglican worship in the area for over 110 years.
